1. Description
The game presents players with a variety of unique, pre-defined outlines and a set of diverse geometric blocks (polyominoes). Unlike traditional jigsaw puzzles that rely on image matching, JigSol Blocks focuses entirely on spatial fitting. You must find the exact arrangement of the provided pieces to perfectly fill the target silhouette without any overlaps or empty spaces.
Progressive Difficulty: Levels range from simple shapes with 3–4 pieces to complex, multi-piece configurations that require deep spatial planning.
Minimalist Aesthetic: A clean, distraction-free interface with vibrant colors and smooth animations, designed to promote a "flow state."
No Pressure Gameplay: There are no punishing timers or high-score pressure, allowing you to solve puzzles at your own pace.
Brain Training: Specifically designed to improve spatial visualization, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
Hint System: If you find yourself stuck on a particularly tricky configuration, the game provides a helpful hint system to point you in the right direction.
Optimized for Touch: Intuitive drag-and-drop controls optimized for iPhone and iPad screens.
The Objective: Fill the gray silhouette in the center of the screen completely using the colored blocks provided at the bottom.
Placement: Drag a block from the tray and drop it into the silhouette. Pieces will "snap" into place when positioned correctly.
Experimentation: If a piece doesn't seem to fit the remaining space, simply drag it back to the tray or move it to a different section of the board.
Completion: Once every square of the silhouette is covered by a colored block, the level is complete, and you move to the next challenge.
Start with the "Unique" Pieces: Look for blocks with unusual shapes or long "arms." These pieces often have only one or two possible locations within the silhouette, making them the best starting point.
Fill the Corners First: The corners and narrow "necks" of a silhouette are usually the most restrictive areas. Finding the right blocks for these spots first often reveals how the rest of the puzzle should be solved.
Work Backward from Large Pieces: Large, bulky blocks take up the most real estate. If you place a large block and it leaves behind a shape that is impossible to fill with your remaining small pieces, you know immediately that the large block is in the wrong spot.
Visualize the "Negative Space": Instead of just looking at the blocks you have, look at the empty space left in the silhouette. Ask yourself, "Which of my remaining pieces has a shape that matches this hole?"
Take a Break: If you’re stuck on a level, step away for a few minutes. Spatial puzzles are often solved by the brain's "background processing," and you may see the solution instantly when you return with fresh eyes.
