Plot & Setting
The game takes place inside a mind that has been peaceful for years until new, nightmarish thoughts begin to emerge. These nightmares manifest as physical creatures spreading fear and chaos. You play as Dusty, the mind’s former voice of courage, who has become grumpy and reluctant. Accompanied by his optimistic friend Piper, Dusty must travel through various sectors of the mind—like the Clockwork Town (logic) or the Freedom Isles (creativity)—to confront these fears and restore order.
Musical World: Music is integral to the environment. Plants, buildings, and even enemies function like musical instruments. The background score evolves based on your location and actions.
Rhythmic Combat: The nightmarish bosses have their own unique "theme songs" and perform musical numbers while fighting you. You must time your attacks and dodges to the rhythm of these performances.
Brain-Teasing Puzzles: Each area is filled with logic-based puzzles that require manipulating the surreal environment to clear a path forward.
Hand-Drawn Aesthetics: The art style features a whimsical, painterly look that emphasizes the dreamlike nature of the subconscious.
Platform: Optimized for Xbox Series X|S, but also playable on Xbox One, PC, and via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Smart Delivery: Buying one version provides access across both Xbox One and Series X|S consoles.
Accessibility: Includes four dedicated accessibility features and supports 15 languages.
Rating: Rated Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence, crude humor, and mild blood.
The game is praised for its creative approach to mental health themes through a vibrant, musical lens. A sequel, Figment 2: Creed Valley, is also available and continues the story with expanded cooperative gameplay and new musical mechanics.
