How to Play

• Survival Basics: Monitor your hunger and thirst levels constantly. Gather basic resources like wood, stone, and fiber from forests and hills to craft essential tools and clothing.

• Base Building: Build a fortified shelter to protect yourself from the undead and other players. Upgrading your walls is essential, as enemy raiders and night-roaming creatures will attempt to break in.

• Exploration: Travel to different locations on the map to find rare materials. Areas are rated by "skull" difficulty; higher difficulty zones offer better rewards but contain more dangerous enemies like Knights and Templars.

• Combat: Use a hit-and-run style of combat. Timing your attacks and dodging is critical, as enemies are relentless. Sneaking allows you to deal double damage with a surprise attack.

• Dungeon Crawling: Enter ever-changing dungeons beneath ruins to find powerful relics and high-tier equipment. These are "instanced" areas filled with traps and cursed guardians.

• Scarlet Hunt: Participate in seasonal tasks to earn points for the Scarlet Hunt. These tasks reward you with unique armor, weapons, and rare consumables like the Quartermaster's stock.

Strategies for Success

• Master the Sneak Attack: Use the crouch/sneak mechanic to approach enemies from behind. This is the most efficient way to clear zones while saving weapon durability and health.

• Manage "Night Guest" Spawns: During the night cycle, a powerful, invincible enemy called the "Night Guest" will appear. Always carry a Torch or stay near a lit fire to drive him away; otherwise, you must leave the area immediately.

• Efficiency in Farming: When farming for wood or stone, clear the edges of the map first. This allows you to retreat quickly if a powerful "AI Exile" (another "player" bot) spawns with high-tier gear.

• Focus on the Stable and Boat: Prioritize gathering rare items like "parts" for the Stable and the Boat. Completing the stable allows you to ride a horse to distant locations, while the boat lets you cross the river to access entirely new lands and resources.

• Utilize the Blast Furnace: As you progress, build a Blast Furnace to process steel. Steel is the gatekeeper for late-game weapons and armor. Recent updates allow for a second Blast Furnace, which doubles your production speed for these vital materials.

• Pet Management (Ghostly Cats): Use cats to gain passive buffs. Check the "active cat tab" frequently to monitor their energy levels. Cats can provide skills that help with item discovery or combat stats.

• Inventory "Quick Stack": If you have a VIP subscription, use the Quick Stack feature to organize your chests instantly. This saves significant time when returning from a resource run with a full inventory.

• Tactical Torture: If you capture a Torturer Scout, use the torture mechanic to gain additional effects and intel that can help you navigate the Dungeon of the Torturers more safely.

• Inventory Management: Never take more than you need into a zone. If you die in a "timed" event or a generic resource zone, your body and items are lost forever. Only bring your best gear to "permanent" locations like your home base or specific dungeons where you can retrieve your corpse.

• Use Ravens for Quests: Always check the messages brought by ravens. These quests often lead to "Wandering Merchants" or "fallen knights," providing opportunities to trade for items you cannot yet craft.
