In this title, you leave the courtroom behind to investigate crime scenes in person. As Miles Edgeworth, you work alongside Detective Dick Gumshoe and the self-proclaimed "Great Thief" Kay Faraday to solve a series of interconnected murders. The gameplay focuses on "logic" and field investigation, requiring you to physically move Edgeworth around environments to uncover clues and confront suspects through "Logic Chess" and "Arguments."
Direct Character Control: Unlike the point-and-click style of the main series, you can move Edgeworth freely around 2D crime scenes using a virtual d-pad or tap-to-move controls.
Logic System: Collect individual pieces of information and combine them in Edgeworth’s mind to form new conclusions and advance the story.
Arguments in the Field: Instead of formal trials, you engage in "Arguments" with witnesses and rivals (like Interpol agent Lang) directly at the scene of the crime.
Little Thief: Use Kay Faraday’s high-tech device to create holographic recreations of crime scenes as they were in the past to find discrepancies.
HD Sprites: The mobile version features completely redrawn high-definition character sprites and backgrounds, replacing the pixel art of the original Nintendo DS version.
Investigate: Walk around environments and tap on objects of interest. Use the "Examine" button to get a closer look at evidence.
Logic Mode: Open the Logic menu to see your collected "thoughts." Select two related thoughts and tap "Connect" to bridge the gap in Edgeworth’s reasoning.
Deduction: While examining a scene, use the "Deduce" button to point out a contradiction between the evidence in your hand and the current state of the crime scene.
Testimony & Rebuttal: Listen to a suspect’s "Argument." Press for more information and present evidence to expose the truth, similar to the courtroom mechanics of the main series.
Connect Logic Early: Don't let your "Logic" pieces pile up. Try connecting them as soon as you have two or more; this often unlocks new areas to investigate or triggers necessary dialogue.
Examine Everything Twice: Some objects change or reveal new clues after you’ve had a specific conversation or found a related piece of evidence. If you're stuck, do a second sweep of the room.
The "Little Thief" Trick: In holographic recreations, pay attention to things that don't belong. If a reconstruction shows a lamp was on, but the physical evidence shows the bulb was missing, that’s your key to a deduction.
Read the Profiles: In this game, sometimes the "evidence" you need to present is a person's profile rather than a physical object. If a witness's claim contradicts another person's known location or traits, present their profile.
