1. Description
Unlike traditional Mahjong Solitaire where you remove tiles from a stacked pile, Mahjong Connect features a single layer of tiles arranged in a grid. The goal is to connect matching pairs using a path that has no more than two turns (the "three-line rule"). This version uses a 3D engine for the tiles while maintaining a clean, straightforward 2D layout for the gameplay.
Link-Style Gameplay: Focuses on the "Onet" matching mechanic (connecting tiles with lines).
Time-Attack Mode: Each level has a countdown timer; matching pairs adds a small amount of time back to your clock.
Dynamic Board Shifting: In some levels, after a pair is removed, the remaining tiles slide up, down, or sideways to fill the gap, constantly changing the available connections.
Hint and Shuffle Systems: If you get stuck, you can use a hint to see a match or shuffle the entire board to create new possibilities.
Progressive Difficulty: Levels increase in complexity with larger grids and a wider variety of tile symbols.
Objective: Clear all tiles from the board before the timer runs out.
The Connection Rule: You can match two identical tiles if they can be connected by a line that turns no more than twice.
Edge Matching: Tiles on the outer edges are the easiest to match because the connecting line can travel outside the grid boundary.
Level Completion: Once all tiles are cleared, you progress to the next stage, often with a slightly shorter time limit or a more complex tile layout.
Start from the Outside: Always look for matches along the perimeter first. Clearing the edges opens up "lanes" for the internal tiles to be connected.
Manage the Clock: Don't spend too long looking for the "perfect" match. Sometimes it's better to use a Hint or Shuffle early to keep your momentum and time-bonus active.
Anticipate the Slide: If you are on a level where tiles slide after a match, try to predict how the board will look after your move. You can set up "cascading" matches by clearing the bottom tiles first.
Focus on "Pairs of Pairs": If you see four of the same tile, try to clear them all at once. This prevents one of the tiles from becoming an "orphan" in the middle of the board that is difficult to reach later.
Vertical vs. Horizontal: Scan the board in patterns. First, look for immediate adjacent matches (side-by-side), then look for matches along the same outer line.
