### Game Overview:

* **The Campaign:** This entry concludes the original *Modern Warfare* trilogy. Picking up immediately after the events of *Modern Warfare 2* (2009), you follow Captain Price, Soap MacTavish, and Yuri as they hunt down Vladimir Makarov across global locations like New York, London, Paris, and Berlin.

* **Multiplayer:** The game features the classic "Pointstreak" system, which rewards players for completing objectives rather than just getting kills. It introduced the **Support** and **Specialist** strike packages alongside the traditional **Assault** package.

* **Special Ops:** The cooperative mode returns with two distinct styles:

    * **Mission Mode:** Objective-based scenarios similar to those in the campaign.

    * **Survival Mode:** An endless wave-based mode where you defend against increasingly difficult enemies on multiplayer maps, purchasing weapons and air support between rounds.

### Compatibility & Technical Details:

* **Backwards Compatibility:** Although it is an Xbox 360 game, you can play it on **Xbox One** and **Xbox Series X|S**. 

* **Performance:** On newer consoles, the game benefits from steadier frame rates and faster load times. On Xbox Series X and Xbox One X, it may also feature improved texture filtering.

* **Online Status:** The multiplayer servers for the original MW3 are still active, and Microsoft notably improved the matchmaking servers for older Call of Duty titles in recent years to support the legacy player base.

Please note that this is the **2011 original**, not the rebooted *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III* released in 2023.
