### Gameplay Overview

* **The ARC Threat:** Enemies range from swarming "Wasps" and "Leapers" to massive, screen-filling bosses like the "Matriarch." These machines are powered by machine-learning AI, making their combat patterns unpredictable.

* **Risk vs. Reward:** If you die during a raid with a custom loadout, you lose everything in your inventory. However, "Safe Pockets" allow you to keep a small number of your most precious items regardless of the outcome.

* **Speranza Hub:** Between raids, you return to the underground city to upgrade your workshops, trade with NPCs, and interact with **Scrappy the Rooster**, a companion who scavenges small amounts of materials for you while you are away.

### How to Play

1.  **Preparation:** Choose between a "Free Loadout" (low-grade gear provided at no cost) or a "Custom Loadout" using your own crafted weapons and gadgets.

2.  **Infiltration:** Drop into maps like the "Buried City" or "Dam Battlegrounds." Move quietly; every sound—from footsteps to opening a container—creates audio cues that others can track.

3.  **Looting:** Search containers for scrap, jewelry, and rare electronics. You can **Salvage** items mid-match to break them into stackable materials (freeing up bag space) or wait to **Recycle** them at the base for a higher yield.

4.  **Tactical Combat:** Use gadgets like grappling hooks for verticality and smoke grenades for escapes. You can switch your camera view (shoulder-swapping) to peek around corners safely.

5.  **Extraction:** Head to an extraction beacon to call for transport. This process is loud and long, often attracting nearby threats. Alternatively, use a rare **Raider Hatch Key** for a silent, instant exit.

### Strategies for Success

* **The 5-Minute Rule:** Early on, prioritize short raids. Get in, grab a few essential items for your first workshop upgrades, and extract within 5 minutes to build up a "buffer" of resources.

* **Use Scrappy the Rooster:** Upgrade Scrappy’s level by finding items like the **Dog Collar**. He is a consistent source of passive materials that help mitigate the sting of a failed raid.

* **Shoulder Swap Mastery:** In firefights, always swap your camera to the shoulder that lets you see around a corner without exposing your body. This is a fundamental skill for surviving PvP encounters.

* **Noise Lures vs. AI:** If you are being hunted by another player, throw a noise lure near them. The nearby ARC robots will prioritize the loud sound, forcing your opponent to deal with the machines while you escape.

* **Fall Damage Cancel:** You can cancel most fall damage by timing a **Dodge Roll** exactly when your feet touch the ground. This is vital for navigating the game's vertical urban environments quickly.

* **Weather & Events:** Pay attention to map conditions like "Cold Snap" or "Electromagnetic Storm." While more dangerous, these events significantly increase the rarity and value of the loot found in containers.
